Amazon Releases What We Streamed, Downloaded in 2017
At this time of year, there are three things you can be sure of: you'll probably still be writing "2017" for three more weeks; you've rationalized away at least one New Year's resolution; and that you'll be inundated with a ton of "Best/Worst of 2017" lists and other year-end posts (yup, guilty as charged) – mostly because you know you love them. Not to be outdone, streaming service Amazon has released their end-of-year tallies on what your eyeballs have been glued to in 2017. Here's the breakdown, separated between "streamed" and "downloaded"; and then further divided between domestic and international viewership:
Most Streamed (U.S.A.)
(1) Sneaky Pete – Season 1
(2) The Grand Tour – Season 1
(3) The Man In the High Castle – Season 1
(4) The Man In the High Castle – Season 2
(5) The Tick
Most Streamed (International)
(1) The Grand Tour – Season 1
(2) Sneaky Pete – Season 1
(3) The Man In the High Castle – Season 1
(4) The Man In the High Castle – Season 2
(5) The Tick
Biggest takeaways from those two lists: how similar the viewing habits are between domestic and international viewers; The Man In the High Castle continues to be a winner for the streaming service; and Sneaky Pete and The Tick need more mainstream promotion because those rankings are surprisingly impressive.

A con man (Giovanni Ribisi) on the run from a vicious gangster (Bryan Cranston) takes cover from his past by assuming the identity of his prison cellmate, Pete, "reuniting" with Pete's estranged family, a colorful, dysfunctional group that threatens to drag him into a world just as dangerous as the one he's trying to escape – and, just maybe, give him a taste of the loving family he's never had.
Most Downloaded (U.S.A.)
(1) Bubble Guppies – Season 1
(2) Mr. Robot – Season 1
(3) The Man In the High Castle – Season 1
(4) The Grand Tour – Season 1
(5) Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood – Season 1
Most Downloaded (International)
(1) Bubble Guppies – Season 1
(2) Mr. Robot – Season 1
(3) The Grand Tour – Season 1
(4) The Man In the High Castle – Season 1
(5) Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood – Season 1
Biggest takeaway from those two lists: parents clearly want an arsenal of popular children's programming available at a moment's notice; The Man in the High Castle is still a monster; and this will explain to my friends why Mr. Robot deserves to get renewed even if the Live+ numbers aren't that strong.
