Capcom Planning To Boost Support For Nintendo Switch Titles

We'll be talking about Capcom's latest quarterly reports later on, but an interesting development came from the report that will be exciting for Nintendo Switch fans. According to the report, Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers was actually a huge success on the system, and because of this, Capcom will be providing better support to the game and future titles on the console moving forward.

Essentially, like many Nintendo consoles when they come out, there weren't a lot of fighting games announced for it beyond Street Fighter and Arms. Because the Switch aimed for a more mature demo, it had a large audience who loved fighting games, to which Ultra Street Fighter II filled the gap nicely. Despite having a $40 price tag on what some criticized as a repackaged game, Capcom sold 450,000 units, making it one of their most successful titles so far in 2017.

Because of this, Capcom are now looking to devote more resources to the Switch for current titles and upcoming games. Right now the only thing on the table is Monster Hunter XX, but after this report, it could be very conceivable to see games such as Monster Hunter: World, Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite, and Street Fighter V make their way to the console in short order.
