CCP Games Announces "Invasion" Expansion for EVE Online
CCP Games has announced the latest expansion for free-to-play scifi MMO EVE Online. EVE Online: Invasion will bring an adversary to the space of New Eden for the first time when Capsuleers are challenged to meet the mysterious Triglavian race head on.
The expansion will come with new enemy ships, new rewards, and a new dimension to gameplay in EVE.
The Invasion is part of a series of content updates that will run through 2019 and expand the Triglavian story in EVE Online with additional updates. Highlights for Invasion include the new Triglavian ships in the Tech II category in the Frigate, Destroyer, and Cruiser classes. There will also be additions to the Mutaplasmid system that players can loot from Abyssal Deadspace to modify their existing ship modules to make them more powerful or efficient. Lastly, the expansion will change the War Declaration system to consolidate recent improvements.
"EVE has always been about actions having lasting and meaningful consequences, so with EVE Online: Invasion our goal has been to provide a universe-changing event for our community to experience in familiar space," said Bergur Finnbogason, EVE Online's Creative Director. "Capsuleers will be defending their territory from a fearsome new sect. We're incredibly keen to see our players fighting for the star systems they hold dear against an increasingly serious threat unlike anything they've ever faced before!"
