Clorox Has Released Its Own Stardew Valley Modded Item

Kanadeyoru created a new mod, "Unleash the Bleach – Inspired by Clorox," that adds a pixelated bottle of Clorox bleach so you can clean up Pelican Town.

Article Summary

  • Clorox teams up with modder Kanadeyoru to bring an official bleach item mod to Stardew Valley.
  • Clean up Pelican Town after a storm with story-driven quests and new bleach-themed minigames.
  • Take cleaning quizzes, track progress, and enjoy custom animations as you restore the town.
  • Annual Summer 14 quest rewards players with a Clean Town Badge and a special community celebration.

Another odd cross-promotional item in a video game has been released, as Clorox made its own modded item for the game Stardew Valley. The mod is called "Unleash the Bleach – Inspired by Clorox," and essentially it adds a bottle of the company's bleach to the game, complete with the official branding (or as close to it as they could get in a pixelated form), which you will then use to go clean up items in Pelican Town with a new set of mini challenges. The mod was created by Kanadeyoru, who has made an array of mods for the PC version of the farming simulator title, with the permission of The Clorox Company under their license.  We have more details about the mod from the developer below, as it is available right now on CurseForge.

It's Time To Unleash the Bleach and Keep Stardew Valley Clean With This Clorox Mod

A heavy storm rolls through Pelican Town and leaves it looking rough. The next morning, Mayor Lewis calls on you to help set things right. Move through the town, clean up the mess, and watch Pelican Town go from grimy to glowing in a story-driven event that feels oddly satisfying from start to finish. (Mod features are fan-made and inspired by Clorox. The mod is not official game content nor is it associated with the game developers and publishers.)

  • Help the Residents After the Storm: Clean up the damage across different areas of the town to trigger before-and-after cutscenes. These sequences show the direct impact of your progress as each map transitions back to its original state.
  • Quiz and Cleaning MinigameEvery dirty spot requires a quick quiz to get started. Once you pass the quiz, you'll jump into a cleaning minigame featuring unique animations and sound effects for every surface you scrub.
  • Navigation and TrackingThe Quest Journal tracks which locations need work and displays a live counter for the remaining spots in your current map. A visual indicator arrow also points you toward any mess you might have missed to ensure you can complete the cleanup easily.
  • Annual Quest and RewardsThe quest triggers every year on Summer 14 and stays active through the end of the season. Once the town is fully restored, the community holds a celebration where NPCs thank you personally and talk about how the area is back to looking the way it always should be. During the celebration, Mayor Lewis will officially present you with the exclusive Clean Town Badge for helping the community!
