NECA to Re-Release Gremlins Spider Gremlin Deluxe Figure

Gremlins is one of those film properties that lends itself to action figures pretty easily. NECA is re-releasing their Spider Gremlin Deluxe figure this May. The original release came and went really fast, and commanded a high price on the after-market. Hopefully for collectors that missed it then, they'll have a chance to grab one this time, because this figure is truly a work of art. It will run around $70.

This incredible re-creation of the Spider Gremlin puppet seen in Gremlins 2: The New Batch features over 30 points of articulation, including the eight massive spider legs that are articulated in three places each.

When fully assembled, the Spider Gremlin stands over 10" tall, nearly 15" across and over 12" deep! The figure also includes a support stand to help balance and display it in your desired poses. A true must-have centerpiece for any Gremlins collection.

Man, is that creepy looking. And huge! Any figure that needs a support stand to help keep it standing is crazy big. I love, love, love the legs on this bad boy. The sculpting on this thing is incredibly detailed, but the legs stand out so much to me. There are a lot of ways that could go wrong quick, especially being so thin near the feet, but the tighter joints NECA uses on their figures make it work. It really is exceptional to see. The different face portraits are fantastic, as well.
