It's All About Han Solo in Star Wars: Battlefront II's Year 2 DLC
DICE and EA have revealed that Star Wars Battlefront II's year two content will bring us all things Han Solo starting with a new playable character. Yes, you will be able to play as young Han Solo.
We're also getting a Kessel map, a return of the Extraction game mode, Lando's Millenium Falcon, and some new cosmetics.
The likeness of Alden Ehrenreich, who plays Han in Solo: A Star Wars Story, is used for the character's two new skins, which come to Battlefront II alongside a handful of new content inspired by the most recent Star Wars film. This includes a map set on the planet Kessel, the return of the Extraction multiplayer mode, Lando's Millennium Falcon, and new customization items.
The new map takes players into the coaxium mines on Kessel and will be available across five game modes: Arcade, Blast, Hero Showdown, Heroes vs Villains, and Extraction. Extraction, which makes its return after debuting in Star Wars Battlefront's Outer Rim DLC, will be playable on both the Kessel and Jabba's Palace maps.
Lando's Millennium Falcon, meanwhile, will be available to pilot for the first time in Battlefront II. The ship will feature two laser cannons with alternate firing and three special abilities that allow you to activate a speed boost, highlight enemies, and fire both primary weapons at the same time with increased damage output.
Also arriving on June 12 are five new Appearances based on characters from Solo: A Star Wars Story. Two new looks will be available for Han Solo — Corellia Escape and Beckett's Crew — while the Professional "Sportsman" and Raconteur outfits will be available for Lando. A new skin for Chewbacca, Epic Vandor Heist, will also be released that day.
Both Lando's Millennium Falcon and the aforementioned customization items will be available for Credits or Crystals.
In addition to new content, June's Han Solo Season update will include a tweaked version of the Jetpack Cargo mode, changes to the menu, and various bug fixes.
Regardless of some fan's reactions, movie tie-ins to video games have been a thing for quite some time now. And are pretty much to be expected with Battlefront II. And with the new microtransaction system, perhaps Year Two will go better for the game than the first.
