Microsoft Announces Ori And The Will Of The Wisps At E3

Amid the torrent of gameplay reveals, announcements, and teasers that was Microsoft's insane E3 conference, one title stood out as being frankly disturbing and adorable. That game was Ori and the Will of the Wisps. As one of Microsoft's partnered Indie titles, this one doesn't look like a game that you'd play on an Xbox. Isn't it funny how, even with all that ID @ Xbox work, most indie titles that make it to the Xbox and Windows 10 Play Anywhere end up looking like, well, Microsoft titles?

Ori though, looks a little bit more like the high-concept art game we've come to expect from Sony's PlayStation 4 indie offerings. And that's kind of awesome. And that combination of horrifying and adorable is the sort of thing I live for. But most of that isn't thanks to Microsoft. No, that's down to the creative team behind the game at Moon Studios, the versatility of the Unity engine, and the foundation of Ori and the Blind Forest. Still, this one was a major highlight from the show.

The game got a teaser at the E3 show, which is described as follows:

Xbox One and Windows 10 exclusive. From the creators of the multi-award winning "Ori and the Blind Forest" comes the highly anticipated sequel: "Ori and the Will of the Wisps." Embark on an all new adventure to discover the mysteries beyond the forest of Nibel, uncover the hidden truths of those lost, and unravel Ori's true destiny.
