Mystery Horror Point-And-Click Stonewall Penitentiary Will Launch This Winter
Stonewall Penitentiary, a mystery horror point-and-click adventure game, will launch Winter of 2017. An early demo of the game is now available for download for free. The reason for the demo is simple. The dev team is seeking player feedback via a short survey that opens upon the demo's conclusion. You can pick up the game demo here, if you're interested.
If you haven't heard of the game, fret not, it has a pretty simple premise. The description reads in full:
You wake up. The last thing you remember was lying in bed at home. But you aren't home anymore. Looking around, you quickly establish four things: you're in a prison; your clothes are missing; your hands are tied; and you can't remember how you got here.
Stonewall Penitentiary is essentially a gritty "whodunit" mystery horror adventure game by Unimatrix Productions, and is the fourth game in the Storycentric Worlds series. It features all the standard adventure game mechanics like exploration, player inventory, puzzle solving, and character interaction but presents it in a unique format which is more reminiscent of visual novels than your average video game.
In Stonewall Penitentiary, you play the role of William Thane, a middle-aged man down on his luck, who just so happens to have a name that really evokes the sense of old school horror. You, along with several others, are trapped in an abandoned prison, held captive by a sociopath obsessed with justice.
The game's full list of features includes:
- EXPLORE an abandoned prison and uncover its dark secrets
- INTERACT with many interesting, fully-voiced characters
- SOLVE a multitude of challenging puzzles
- ENJOY hundreds of original images and an hour-long soundtrack
- DISCOVER three different endings, depending on your actions
- UNLOCK all the achievements to view a special post-game bonus scene
- EXPERIENCE a 10+ hour story that combines the horror of Saw and the mystery of Agatha Christie
