Felicia's Day At Bookcon Panel In NYC

The Second Annual Bookcon was held on May 30-31st in New York City at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. It's labeled as the "ultimate celebration of books", on its website and is part of Book Expo America.

On Saturday Felicia Day (The Guild) had a panel to promote her new book,You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost): A Memoir.

20150530_132805Felicia has been an actress in many sci-fi and fantasy genre movies and T.V. shows, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Supernatural. She is known also known for work on the YouTube Geek & Sundry channel.

20150530_132813In the panel Felicia said she had been home schooled and it did not help her socially.

At a young age, Felicia kept a diary and she advised the audience that it was important to keep a diary everyday.

She had a double major in collage and entered at 16. She said ," I didn't date a lot, because it was illegal." Everyone laughed.

Felicia was a violin expert, and a math wiz."My Mom raised Me to be a Geisha", she said. Felicia used the internet as a way to find friends. She used the web to help propel her into the world she is in now. She said "I was the embodiment of pluck." She has very obsessive personality, she said.

She said "I was very killable", regarding the roles she has played in Hollywood.

Felicia knows that the thing that makes you weird, or makes you stand out, is the thing that you can use to help you overcome and achieve what you want in life. She encourages us to take the thing that makes you quirky and use that as a positive in your life. Her book is out in August 15th.
