Grand Theft Auto V On The PC Has An An Extensive 'Director Mode'

GTA-5-PC-Screen-7

Grand Theft Auto V on the PC is just a few days away, bringing with it higher graphical quality, more control as well as the potential for mods. It has been long awaited, but finally, on Tuesday it will be with us.

One of the coolest new features in the port is undoubtedly the new Director Mode. It allows you to save sections of play from all the craziness you will no doubt get up to in Los Santos. It isn't merely just a clip saver though. When speaking to PC Gamer, lead designer at Rockstar Toronto, John Macpherson explained the absurd level of manipulation you can have over your footage.

The Rockstar Video editor in GTA V features a number of significant improvements. This starts at the recording level, where players now have the option to start and stop their captures at will. We have also added a brand new feature known as 'Director Mode'. This gives users the ability to play and record using any actor from GTA V such as story and heist crew characters, members of the ambient population and even animals.

On the editing side of things. GTA V now allows players to add and trim multiple radio tracks to a single video. Scored music is also available as are numerous in-game commercial recordings. A new suite of custom filters have been added along with custom post effects tuning. Players can add and customize depth of field effects in their videos now as well. For camera edits, additional targeting and blend options have been added for greater control over shots. Final edits can now be shared directly to YouTube and entered into upcoming Social Club contests.

On top of all that, players can change the time of day, weather and make other characters and animals perform "contextual actions".

This sounds really robust and the kind of thing I'd be crazy for when I was younger. I say roll on Tuesday.
