Party In The Old Cell Block – Ghost Rider Goes To Prison

The latest episode of Agents of SHIELD has pretty much their A-Team in the field trying to get to Eli Morrow before Lucy Bauer and her band of spookies get to him. Seems she has found the Darkhold but she can't read it in her transformed state… which leaves only Eli as a former member of the team who left before the bad things happened.

When they just thought they were getting Morrow out of prison to help, Melinda May and Phil Coulson went in together. But when the whole prison turned into a riot, Daisy Johnson, Robbie Reyes and Alphonso 'Mac' MacKenzie head in with Leo Fitz playing coach. But they have to be at their best as they are taking on all the inmates in the prison.

The main story includes nice moments with Coulson being Coulson again. Daisy trying to overcompensate for Lincoln's death. Robbie struggling with control over the Ghost Rider. Mac and May being bad-asses and a constant reminder that they all work better as a team. We also got more information on Robbie's backstory and maybe there is a lot more to it than just a gang shooting.

The B-story looked to center around Jemma Simmons trying to get around the mandatory lie detector tests. But it actually introduces us to the idea that there is a much darker story behind the new director. Jeffrey Mace is hiding something. And it's not just that he is Inhuman. We know he was around in Vienna when the bombing of the UN took place in Captain America: Civil War… They told us that last night. But what was he doing there? And are his superpowers limited to strength?

In the opening moments we see a flashback of Lucy and Joseph Bauer discovering the Darkhold for the first time. It's buried in room that has a lot of old object in it like a motorcycle and a Quentin Carnival poster. The Quentin Carnival is the circus that the other Ghost Rider, Johnny Blaze worked at as a stunt rider with his dad when he made a deal with the devil.

Looks like next week we get the origin of Ghost Rider. We'll it tie more into the Johnny Blaze version?
