Xbox One Is Planning To Return To Original Value On January 3rd

xbox-one-featured-imageIn November, Xbox One outsold the PlayStation 4 for the first time since the consoles released. This was largely due to a $50 price cut from the company and Black Friday sales. There is no clear indication whether the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One won the battle for Christmas, but logic dictates that it would be in favour of Xbox One again as the price cut is still in place.

However, if Major Nelson is to believed, that price cut is going to end at 11:59 p.m. PT this Saturday where the Xbox One will then be bumped back up to $399. To be fair, this has always been the plan. When the price drop was announced by Microsoft, they said that the deal was only going to run through the holiday period. Many people expected the price to stick though, especially with the huge spike in sales, but alas, it seems not to be.

That is unless Major Nelson is pulling a fast one to make people think the offer is ending soon to create a frenzy. That isn't out of the realms of possibility. Or maybe they will go for a week, see a drop in sales and then drop the price again. That is also possible. Or maybe it will just stick and Microsoft will bump up the price of their extremely well selling console up by $50.

Regardless of what happens, the very latest I can see the $399 price tag sticking is E3, but announcing a drop to a previous price on the big stage doesn't really have as big of an impact does it?
