"Cyberpunk 2077" Baffles and Amazes at E3 2019

CD Projekt Red's big project, Cyberpunk 2077, has hit E3 hard with a new trailer. As always, though, we're both baffled and amazed by the game that just seems to be a bit all over the place.

The trailer showed some character dialogue, random cursing, human body modification, the world's creepiest in-game AI character, and even a little bit of shooting action. However, the trailer mostly relied on narrative and emotional impact, which is a bit of a first for the game. Previous trailers have mostly focused on world building, the gameplay, or the concept for the title.

But then, narrative and emotional impact is where CD Projekt does their best work. So this is absolutely Cyberpunk 2077''s best trailer so far.

That said, we still have an absolute ton of questions about this game. And we'll probably get no answers until after the game launches.

And while it won't be playable at E3 this year, they did get Keanu Reeves to give their presentation at the Xbox showcase. So there is that.

The game also got a release date. CD Projekt Red is releasing their massive sci-fi opus on May 16, 2020.
