Hasbro Shows Off New Spider-Man: Homecoming Legends Figures
Hasbro has revealed some of their upcoming Marvel Legends wave supporting Spider-Man: Homecoming today. First revealed on Coming Soon, figures shown include the "Homemade Suit" Spidey, "Web Wings" Spidey, a Iron Man/Spidey two-pack (wondering if this is a new Iron Man suit for the film), and the Vulture. Now, the Build a Figure for this wave is not a figure at all, you collect the pieces to build Vultures' flight gear. Typically, this is spread around 6 or so figures, so one would expect some others are still to be announced, especially with the size of the flight gear itself.
Look at that wingspan! I don't know where I am going to display that thing, but that is some impressive work. I do hope that they don't do this sort of thing often though, as I like the idea of buying to build another character more than an accessory.
Personally, I am hoping that the other three figures from this wave will be more sidekick oriented. Tom Holland is great as Spidey from the little bits we have seen, but I would even want a Peter Parker figure, an Aunt May, a Zendaya figure whether she is Mary Jane or Michelle or whatever. Lets mix this thing up a little here. I love Spider-Man as much as anyone, and I understand that Spidey has lots of suits and it lends itself to making a figure for all of them, but if you are going to be asking us to buy multiple figures just to build a giant set of wings, can we make it so we don't have to buy 5 versions of Spider-Man?
These figures will be in stores this spring. Spider-Man: Homecoming opens in theaters July 7.
