Here's How Shiny Smeargle & Trubbish Will Look In Pokémon GO

New Shinies are on their way to Pokémon GO. This week, Niantic announced the Sustainability Week Event which will introduce Shiny Trubbish and the New Pokémon Snap tie-in event which will introduce Shiny Smeargle.

Here are the details for both of these upcoming Pokémon GO releases:

  • Sustainability Week will run from Tuesday, April 20th, 2021 at 10 AM until Sunday, April 25th, 2021 at 8 PM. Shiny Trubbish will debut during this event and is currently confirmed as a wild spawn. Hopefully, it won't be too rare. Shiny Trubbish is quite a creative design and can be previewed above. The standard Trubbish looks like a leaking, green garbage bag while Shiny Trubbish doubles down on the trash bag-inspired design with its black color palette. I know it became something of a meme to hate Trubbish due to it being the worst hatch from 12 KM Strange Eggs for a while, but this Pokémon as a rare spawn with its Shiny on the way has certainly risen the ranks in Pokémon GO as a coveted catch with this new release. Its evolution of Garbodor also looks great in its Shiny form, as it looks like some garbage covered in glowing, blue toxic waste. Overall, I think it's a great Shiny line.
  • The New Pokémon Snap event will run in GO from Thursday, April 29th, 2021 at 10 AM until Sunday, May 2nd, 2021 at 8 PM. Shiny Smeargle is the feature release, but Smeargle will remain locked to GO Snapshot photobomb encounters. They do note that the photobombs will increase, allowing more than one per day, but Niantic didn't get specific about how many times you can encounter Smeargle. One thing we do know, though, is that Shiny Smeargle will only be available during the event and will be shelved for a while after the event is over. You can preview Shiny Smeargle, which has a golden tint and red paint instead of green, above.
