Human Head's New Project Rune Ragnarok Looks Amazing
Back in August, Human Head Studios announced that they were developing a new game in their long-running Rune series, titled Rune: Ragnarok. GameInformer revealed some of the game's incredible concept art yesterday, and well. If a series of character portraits indicate how good a game is, Rune: Ragnarok will do well.
Obviously, Ragnarok takes it inspiration from the Norse apocalyptic tale with a decent bit of the usual fantasy RPG elements included. That said, it's probably still a better retelling of the myth than what we got in Thor: Ragnarok today.
While a date for Rune: Ragnarok has not been set, Human Head has confirmed the game is at least coming to PC. At this stage, it isn't certain if we'll be getting any gameplay footage any time soon, because things could very well be very, very early on in development for the game.
That said, I'm a sucker for good art and character design and so I was sold somewhere between Hela's killer makeup and Loki's ridiculous mask/headress combo. Those antlers are absurd and I greatly appreciate it.
The rest of Rune: Ragnarok's concept art is below.
Human Head are also working on a permadeath rouge-like bullethell MMO with Digital Extremes as their publisher. Survived By is a frankly insane concept, but we're looking forward to that as well. Because who doesn't love MMOs with permadeath?
