Independent Study Shows More Gamers Want A Switch Than "Project Scorpio" Or PS4 Pro
Neilson, the company that still sends a paper pamphlet to your grandmother to measure TV ratings and assures Judge Judy will always be a top-rated show, conducted their eighth annual independent study of video gaming trends and interests. According to the results, 16% of surveyed gamers aged 13+ would probably buy the Nintendo Switch over the 15% who want a PS4 Pro and the 13% who want "Project Scorpio" this year.
But don't start running the victory bells for Nintendo this holiday season yet, a look at the data shows that Nielson split up the research for Sony and Microsoft, making clear distinctions between PS4 and PS4 Pro, as well as Scorpio and the Xbox One. A deeper look shows that 21% of gamers and 15% of the general public leaned more toward buying a PS4, with the Xbox One right behind with 17% and 12%, respectfully. So while there's a growing interest in the Switch, the more established consoles are the ones people are looking to getting as a primary system.
The study also goes more in-depth with buying habits and the impact of eSports, you can download the entire study from Nielson's website at the link above.
