Monster Hunter World Won't Be Taking Up Excessive Amounts of Space on Your Console

It's been revealed that Monster Hunter World's storage requirement on console is actually pretty reasonable.

Games nowadays have a tendency to balloon in terms of storage. It's becoming increasingly less rare to see 50gb+ games out there, as more and more titles fight for the limited space in our home consoles. How often do you have to delete a game from your system to make way for a new one? I know for me, it's nearly every time, especially on the mercilessly small launch consoles.

Well, Monster Hunter World seemingly won't be hogging up your entire hard drive when it lands later this month. As reported by PSU, a picture, which originates in Japan, found its way online showing the back of the box and you can see the space requirement for the title. Running at just a cool 16gb, it is certainly on the small side for a AAA release. That's almost a relief, as hopefully, it will mean less managing of storage just to get it running on a 500gb console.

Monster Hunter World is set to release later this month on January 26, bringing the game to a whole new form. If you've not been playing the betas as they've hit, you will still have one more chance on the 19th which will let you try a pretty nice little chunk of the game right off the bat. It's exciting to be looking forward to a Monster Hunter game as I've always loved the concept but less the idiosyncrasies of the franchise. A more open space that ebbs and flows like a western open world married with the concept seems a really exciting combo. Hunting a big ol' unique looking monster down in that space seems fresh to me. I really do hope it does find its audience here. It's shaping up to look pretty great.
