Nintendo Promises There Will Be More Switch Systems Available Soon

Nintendo is confident that, despite the lack of supplies around the world due to production problems related to the coronavirus pandemic, Switch units will be available again soon. This should be great news for players looking to get their hands on a system, which has routinely been upward of $500 and $600 during this brief shortage.

The impact of the coronavirus has been severe when it comes to the amount of Nintendo Switch systems available around the world. The gaming industry as a whole has been affected, with pushbacks and shortages abounding ever since the illness began spreading further. Hardware and physical games have been hit especially hard. The Nintendo Switch has been nearly impossible to find since the pandemic began, but Nintendo is looking to bring some relief to anyone who just wants a handheld system. GamesIndustry.biz reports that Nintendo has suggested that the company is expecting additional Switch units to begin shipping out to stores in the very near future.

"Switch hardware is selling out at various retail locations in the U.S., but more systems are on the way," an agent told the publication, which is, of course, excellent news. Nintendo's Japanese Twitter account echoed this news, as it noted that supply chain problems are being sorted out. Right now, standard shipping for Switch units is on hold, but it's expected to be resolved soon. Customers who reserved limited edition systems over the last few weeks should be getting their hands on their hardware soon as well.

Right now, the Switch Lite is the most ubiquitous product around, with the base system the most affected by this global shortage. Sales of Switch consoles jumped over 150%, in fact, by the end of March. With shelter-in-place orders going out and more and more individuals being forced to stay at home, it's understandable that all of them would want a Switch to ease some of the boredom. Luckily, these issues appear to be being resolved as we speak, and Nintendo Switch units should be much more readily available soon. Hopefully, by the time that the problem is solved, we all haven't lost our jobs and can pay for one.
