Rainbow Six Siege Pro League Skins are on Their Way
Ubisoft is starting a revenue sharing program with the Rainbow Six Pro League which will introduce a number of themed in-game items including special Pro League skins.
The so-called Pilot Program will launch just in time for the League's Season 8 and will bring paid charms and weaponkins to represent the Pro League itself and 11 "Pilot Teams" from among the League's roster. Revenue from the sales will be split between the 11 teams and the Rainbow Six Invitational 2019 prize pool.
"For us, the Pilot Program is a way to reward the teams that are contributing to the League and help it grow," said François-Xavier Dénièle, Ubisoft EMEA's Esports Director. "For fans, we believe it is one of the most direct ways to show their support to specific teams and players. With this program, we are expanding on the Team Charm initiative we ran with different teams during last year's Pro League seasons."
The Pilot Program launches on June 11th and will run through Pro League Seasons 8 and 9, up until May 2019. After this "test period" a "more finalised revenue-share format" will come into play next year likely with various quality of life improvements on all sides.
The 11 Pilot Teams each get a charm and a weapon skin and will receive 30% of the sales from their gear. There will also be Pro League-branded skins and charms, with 30% of their net revenue split between each of the 11 teams in the Pilot Program, while the rest goes to the Invitational prize pool.
