Sony Celebrates International Women's Day with New PS4 Theme
Today is International Women's Day, and Sony is celebrating with a new PS4 theme featuring several iconic PlayStation protagonists. The characters that make up the theme all hail from PlayStation exclusive games like Horizon: Zero Dawn and Detroit: Become Human. Which means there are several iconic video game characters omitted from the theme, but still, having a PS4 theme based entirely around recognizable women is still pretty damn awesome.
While the Women's Day theme isn't dynamic, it was hand-drawn by Guerilla Games' concept artist Choro Choi.
The full cast of the PS4 theme includes:
- Aloy – Horizon: Zero Dawn
- Kara – Detroit: Become Human
- Chole – Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
- Nadine – Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
- Kat – Gravity Rush
- Ellie – The Last of Us
- Atoi – Tearaway
- Sackgirl – Little Big Planet
- Lady Maria – Bloodborne
- Several critters from upcoming PS4 title Dreams
And, naturally, the theme was announced via video. The video showcases some of the talented women working in the games industry from dev studios like Media Molecule's Siobhan Reddy, Geurilla Games' Johana Persson and Angie Smets, and even Sony Santa Monica's Shannon Studstill.
