The Xbox One X and S Will Soon Be Getting 1440p Support
A surprise over the weekend for owners of the Xbox One S and Xbox One X as it appears the company will be moving forward into supporting 1440p graphics and video a lot sooner than many predicted. On Friday, Kevin Gammill, who is the program manager for Microsoft's Xbox Platform Partner Group, tweeted out this quick message below that got a lot of owners excited.
Right now the X and S support 1080p on a standard HDTV, and even with 4K and HDR access, 1440p images come in with a lower resolution. The upgrade would definitely improve both consoles on a visual level if the developers have been making games in higher resolution, however, the S only supports higher graphics while the X is the only console int he family to support 1440p gaming. There's no way to tell how soon "very soon" is, so if you are one of the lucky few who get early previews, you might be getting a message within the next couple weeks.
