We got word not so long ago that Lionhead Studios would be ceasing production on Fable Legends, with the developer also likely shutting down.
Well, it seems that perhaps the game may not be entirely dead. As reported by MCV, three sources in the studio have said that there are efforts from inside the developer to save the game. The choice would be to create an independent studio to work on the game after Lionhead's closure or to accept a redundancy package.
There currently aren't any offers for the game or the studio.
Honestly, this sounds like a massive longshot, as you have to imagine Microsoft would want to retain the rights to Fable, and buying the IP and/or the work done on the game would be a whole lot of money. But perhaps maybe, just maybe, there is a glimmer of light.
