A Superman game has been an illusive proposition got a long time. Despite a lot of speculation, we haven't got a major game featuring the superhero in years, while heroes like Batman have run riot with the Arkham series.

In it, they talk about the ill fated development by Brash Entertainment and Factor 5 of a Superman game that was meant to launch around Bryan Singer's sequel to Superman Returns, before that fell apart, and in tern hurt the game.
