Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny Trailer Shows Unresolved Journey
Disney & Lucasfilm released their latest trailer for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny at Star Wars Celebration 2023.
Star Wars Celebration provided fans with something a little extra in Lucasfilm's other biggest franchise Indiana Jones releasing the official trailer for The Dial of Destiny finally providing greater context for the fifth and final film to feature star Harrison Ford as the legendary archaeologist. In the presentation and Appearing in person were cast members Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Mads Mikkelsen, director/co-writer James Mangold, and producer Kathleen Kennedy, with a message from Ford, to reveal new details about the highly anticipated installment of the iconic franchise. The film, which will be Harrison Ford's final Indiana Jones adventure, premieres at the Cannes Film Festival on May 18 and opens in theaters on June 30.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny Trailer Details
The film also stars Antonio Banderas, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, Ethann Isidore, and the returning John Rhys-Davies, who reprises his role as Sallah from 1981's Raiders of the Lost Ark and 1989's The Last Crusade. Joining Kennedy to produce are Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel, with original franchise director Steven Spielberg and creator George Lucas serving as executive producers. John Williams, who has scored each Indy adventure since the original "Raiders of the Lost Ark" in 1981, has once again composed the score.
With The Rolling Stones' "Sympathy for the Devil" playing in the background, the trailer highlights Henry "Indiana" Jones Jr (Ford) as he's about to enter retirement from his teaching when he meets his goddaughter Helena (Waller-Bridge) he discovers is on a quest for the Dial of Destiny, a relic he once pursued but later abandoned and his adventures leaving him more skeptical and grizzled than usual. He finds himself crossing paths with Nazis again running in a familiar face from his younger years with Mikkelsen's Jürgen Voller. We get our standard fare of Ford pushing his body physically as much as his near octogenarian body at the time allowed him to do on screen with the much younger Waller-Bridge's Helena going toe-to-toe with the presumed liberal use of stunt performers.
