Oculus Rift Won't Stop Virtual Reality Porn On Their Platform

Porn has a strange history of being on the cutting edge of technology. If I remember correctly, X-rated content was some of the first available 3D for the home. I suppose it wouldn't be that surprising to see the industry utilize VR early on. I mean, in a mechanical sense…it makes sense.

Well, if you are one of those porn filmmakers who like to be up to date on trends, Oculus has some good news for you. They won't be stopping the content being made. According to Variety, during a panel at the Silicon Valley Virtual Reality Conference, Oculus founder Palmer Luckey responded when asked about X rated content on the platform saying:

The rift is an open platform. We don't control what software can run on it. And that's a big deal.

That is a big deal, and obviously not just for porn. Having Oculus open to all content will make sure we are getting interesting experiments… even with porn being one of them
