AEW Dynamite Preview w/ Mike Tyson, Brian Cage, Plus New Rankings
All Elite Wrestling has revealed the lineup for a stacked card on tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite, the first show following the Double or Nothing PPV. The show features a star-studded lineup including Mike Tyson, Britt Baker, the Inner Circle, Brian Cage, Jon Moxley, Hikaru Shida, Private Party, Joey Janella, Matt Hardy, the Young Bucks, and Cody Rhodes, amongst others. Here's a rundown of what to expect tonight.
Mike Tyson will make an appearance after presenting the TNT Championship to Cody Rhodes at Double or Nothing. Will Tyson deliver a knockout punch to Lance Archer, Jake the Snake Roberts, or both? Such a confrontation was teased ahead of the match at the PPV, but we only got a brief staredown and poseoff between Tyson and Jake.
Britt Baker is going to address her injury suffered on the last episode of Dynamite. That injury caused Baker to have to back out of her match against Kris Statlander at Double or Nothing, but recent reports reveal she won't be out for as long as it could have been. She'll undoubtedly handle the situation like the role model she is.
The Inner Circle will hold a pep rally, and boy do they need it. Chris Jericho's stable lost the big Stadium Stampede match at AEW Double or Nothing, so they'll need something to improve their morale. Plus, AEW might as well get Tony Khan's money's worth with their usage of the Jacksonville Jaguars cheerleaders.
Brian Cage made his debut at Double or Nothing, winning the Casino Ladder Match. Cage looks to be managed by Taz, and he's already got a shot at Jon Moxley for the AEW Championship at Fyter Fest. Now, we'll hear what the former Impact champion has to say.
Speaking of Jon Moxley, the champ will appear. Moxley successfully defended his title against The Dark Order's Exalted one, Brodie Lee, at Double or Nothing. Next on his plate is a match with Brian Cage. What will he have to say about it?
Hikaru Shida is the new AEW Women's Champion, defeating Nyla Rose at Double or Nothing. Shida will be in action on Dynamite tonight. But what about Nyla Rose?
Is it possible to take a break from one match and join another one? Private Party is right in the middle of their match against Bonez and the Bear on Being the Elite, and here they are going to team up with Joey Janela for a trios match against the Young Bucks and Matt Hardy. It's hard to complain though, since this should be a good one.
Finally, there will be a battle royale to determine the first contender for Cody Rhodes' shiny new (but unfinished) TNT Championship. Will Lance Archer enter the battle royale and murder everyone? Presumably, Cody will be on the show tonight as well.
Additionally, AEW has released their updated rankings following Double or Nothing. Check those out below.
