WWE Collectors Have Tons to Be Excited About: Mattel WWE at SDCC

WWE collectors had a heck of a first day at SDCC yesterday. Mattel went full-throttle at their panel, revealing tons of new figures and bringing WWE Superstars to talk about their careers and boost excitement. Superstars Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins, Becky Lynch, Matt Hardy (hilariously giving a monologue in his "Woken" character"), and as a surprise the WWE Champion AJ Styles. The last half of the panel was them answering questions about who their dreams matches would be and such. But honestly, this panel was all about the #EliteSquad figure reveals and boy did they bring a lot.

Taking a look at what was shown, we got a behind the scenes look at the new faceprinting tech that is going to revolutionize WWE collections. First up was Basics, where they showed the first Ronda Rousey. That is obviously a big deal. Other figures include a new Daniel Bryan, Mandy Rose, and the first Drew Gulak. Three new Battle Packs were shown as well: a new Charlotte Flair/Becky Lynch pack, The Singh Brothers, and the new WWE Raw Tag Team Champions the B-Team.

Then we moved on to Elites. And there were a lot of them. New to Elite figures are chase versions, featuring alternative gear and such. The first two figures that will have chase variants are the new Eilte figures of Shelton Benjamin and Curt Hawkins. TONS of other ones including Pete Dunne, Liv Morgan, Sanity, Velveteen Dream, and new versions of AJ Styles, Paige, and Nia Jax to name a few. Legends getting new figures include the long-awaited King Mabel, Pat Patterson, Bob Backlund, and a Sensational Sherri that will also come with a gown. Finn Balor has his "Balor Club for Everyone" figure coming out as well, which is awesome.

Exclusives will include an Attitude Era Triple H on Amazon, after Honky Tonk Man the net RetroFest figure will be a Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Two new Epic Moments sets will also be coming out: an Undisputed Era NXT pack featuring the first Adam Cole (BAY-BAY!)figure from Mattel. The other is truly epic. A Hardy Compound set complete with delapitated boat, Vanguard 1, and the Mower of Lawn. Crazy cool. Wrestlemania will also have an exclusive Asuka figure. And Entrance Greats comes to an end with Goldberg and Elias, giving way to a new line called Ultimate Edition.

Finally, four new Retro figures were shown, including Jeff Hardy and Braun Stroman. Also teased was a release of Diesel, which should excite fans of the old Hasbro line.

Basically it was one rocking good time in that room. Afterwards, we ran down to get pics of everything on display at the booth only to find even more new figures including new versions of the New Age Outlaws, a gorgeous 90's Surfer Sting, and so many more. Check out those below!
