A Comic Show – April Of Ultron, Convergence, & Rick And Morty
Aaron Haaland of A Comic Shop in Orlando, Florida, writes:
Hey Fandom, I'm back with a stack of New Comics Now for April Fool's Day!
First up is Convergence #0, it's all New 52 Superman vs Brainiacs. Van Sciver's art really carried me through all the different versions of Metropolis and Brainy, but I am totally ready for domes to come down and the brawl to begin. Part of me just doesn't get how freaking similar this is to Marvel's Secret Wars and Battleworld. The other DC books this week are wrap ups of the weeklies and annuals.
Marvel's newest Star Wars title is a Rebels prequel, Kanan The Last Padawan. I love Star Wars Rebels and and showrunner, Greg Weisman, writes the comic! The biggest Marvel universe book is Avengers: Rage of Ultron, and original graphic novel by Remender and Opena. This looks truly epic, from the guys who gave us Uncanny X-Force. I can't wait to read it cover to cover in one sitting. Spider-Gwen continued to wow, Uncanny Inhumans is all Blackbolt, Guardians have their best book ever, and Avengers have more time run out.
Image's continuing series' had a strong showing with Nailbiter, Black Science, The Dying and the Dead, and Southern Bastards. Black Mask's Space Riders is what I want from DC's space books! Image if Lobo or Omega Men was like this. And Rick and Morty #1 was as good as an episode of the show! I incorrectly said internet darling Zac Gorman wrote for the TV show, sorry. But co-creator Justin Roiland did a variant cover!
