'Dragon Quest XI' Coming To North America Sometime In The Future

Dragon Quest XI hasn't even been released in Japan yet, and we already have confirmation that the game will be coming to North America. Actually, we could have predicted that as everyone has become a lot more obsessed with JRPG games lately, and there was absolutely no way Square Enix wasn't going to release this in the west.

Dragon Quest XI

What makes it so unusual and promising is that, firstly, Square has always dragged their feet on the Dragon Quest series to expand the games to the west within a year of their Japanese release dates. And secondly, this report is kind 0f interesting due to the source. Gamer.nl, the Netherlands gaming news site who first reported the news, says that a Dutch PR firm confirmed with them the news of the release, but couldn't give it a date.

The fact that we're hearing about it so soon without the game being released means that maybe, just maybe, Square might actually have their act together a little sooner on this one and are planning to release the game sometime this year in North America, or at the very least the early part of 2018 — which we're sure anyone chomping at the bit to play Dragon Quest XI would be happy to see. The company mentioned during E3 that they'd like to bring more Dragon Quest games to North America, especially after Dragon Quest Heroes II did well over here. So, fingers crossed.
