Epic Games Announces Major Plans for Fortnite at E3 2018
Epic Games has some major plans heading into E3 2018 revolving around Fortnite, as it looks like the biggest video game convention in the country is about to be turned into a massive celebrity tournament.
The company made the announcement this afternoon that they'll be holding the Fortnite Party Royale at E3, with the intent of inviting not just the greatest Fortnite players from around the globe to participate, but also including celebrities like athletes and entertainers to take part in it as well. On top of that announcement for a single-player tournament, they are also planning the Fortnite Celebrity Pro-Am during E3 with famous teams of four fighting for bragging rights (and hopefully charity if they're selling tickets).
The news comes off the heels of Drake having his overnight session with Ninja, in which the duo basically shattered several single-streamer records for views and subscriptions. It looks like Epic Games took notice and decided to jump in on that action. We're sure all of the events will be streamed, because why wouldn't you do it at this rate? Details haven't been released for signups yet, though we're sure that will probably kick in after PAX East in April. This is some really awesome news for Fortnite fans, and it will be interesting to see if the game's greatest competitors try to outdo them at E3.
