Splatoon 2 Will Be Coming To The Switch As Global Test This Week

Later this week and over the weekend, Splatoon 2 will be getting a global beta test for the Switch, called a "global testfire" by the PR team. The free demo is available on the Nintendo eShop on the Switch, so you can pre-download the game before getting a chance to play.

According to the press release, this demo is "going to be the freshest thing that happens this weekend – even fresher than Judd's breath after nibbling on some catnip."

Times for the test are as follows:

March 24: 12-12:59 p.m. PT
March 24: 8-8:59 p.m. PT
March 25: 4-4:59 a.m. PT
March 25: 12-12:59 p.m. PT
March 25: 8-8:59 p.m. PT
March 26: 4-4:59 a.m. PT

The demo will include several new weapon types, new research, and will support both TV and handheld modes – so you can get up to your usual squid shenanigans at home or on the go. Assuming you have WiFi, granted.

You'll be able to post screenshots of the game to whatever social media platform of your choice, so you can keep your friends updated on your adventures.

For the Switchless among us, Nintendo will be doubling their production of Switch consoles starting in April. Until then, go find your nearest neighbor who has one, and shamelessly beg them to let you test it out this weekend. Or try Bleeding Cool's Gavin Sheehan. He has one.

If this is still not enough Splatoon 2 for you, the game is slated for launch sometime this summer. Likely June or July. So you'll only have a few months, tops, to wait for it.
