Pokemon Go's First 2019 Community Day Centers on Totodile

The first Pokemon Go Community Day for 2019 will focus around Totodile, bringing him an exclusive move, as well as buffing egg hatch distance (1/4 egg hatch distance, that is) and giving us 3-hour lures. As you might expect, neither Fast TMs nor Charged TMs will grant the exclusive Community Day move to Totodile or any of his evolutions. To learn the exclusive move, you need to catch or evolve the featured Pokemon (Totodile) during the Community Day hours.

January 2019's Community Day takes place on January 12th from 2-5pm. So players have three total hours to go out and find as many Totodile as possible, while also walking around to get the egg hatch bonus. Though, that's a bit contrary with the extended lures. So, you'll have to prioritize given the short window for the January event.

Further details on the January event can be found on the official Pokemon Go blog.
Currently, Pokemon Go is buffing the original two generations of Legendary Pokemon as part of the game's December celebration. Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Suicune, Raiku, and Entei's drop rates at the end of a player's week of field research have been heavily weighted. As its only December 22nd, you still have time to get one last Legendary drop for the six Pokemon before they return to the regular drop rate.
