If he wasn't busy enough taking on the role of Captain Marvel / Shazam in the upcoming Warner Bros. movie Shazam!, Zachary Levi has been cast as a recurring role in the upcoming second season of Amazon's hit comedy, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. is reporting that the former Chuck actor joins the Rachel Brosnahan series as an eclectic Manhattan doctor who suddenly starts orbiting Midge Maisel's world. No additional details about his character have been released.

Amazon has already renewed the series for a third season prior to the premiere of season 2, which has yet to even get a premiere date. But the series did recently win a Peabody Award for its critically acclaimed first season.

Levi got his break on the comedy series Less Than Perfect, which led to his starring role on the NBC series Chuck and the TV series Telenovela. He's done a few TV mini-series including Tiny Commando, Heroes Reborn, and Alias Grace. He's appeared twice in the MCU as Fandral in Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok and is currently lending his voice to Tangled: The Series. In the upcoming Shazam! movie, Levi plays the super-powered alter-ego of Billy Batson (Asher Angel), who has the power to become an adult superhero through a magic word. Levi's character is on the power level of Superman but is still the mental level of a young boy.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel stars Rachel Brosnahan (House of Cards) as Miriam "Midge" Maisel, a 1958 New York City woman who has everything she's ever wanted — the perfect husband, two kids, and an elegant Upper West Side apartment perfect for hosting Yom Kippur dinner. But her perfect life suddenly takes an unexpected turn and Midge discovers a previously unknown talent — one that changes her life forever. The series also stars Tony Shalhoub (Monk) as Midge's father Abe Weissman, Alex Borstein (Family Guy) as Susie Myerson, Michael Zegen (Boardwalk Empire) as Midge's husband Joel Maisel and Marin Hinkle (Two and a Half Men) as Midge's mother Rose Weissman.
