Fox's Untitled X-Men Show, Which Might Actually Be Titled "Gifted," Apparently Casts Joseph Morgan
X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner has posted a photo of the cast of Fox's untiled X-Men TV show doing a read for the show. Except, in the tweet, she refers to the reading as "Gifted." Could "Gifted" be the name of the as-yet-untitled show, which is created by Burn Notice's Matt Nix, and whose pilot will be directed by Bryan Singer? Might the title be "X-Men: Gifted?" Perhaps "Fox Presents: X-Men Gifted; Suck It, Ike Perlmutter?" We'll have to wait for an official announcement before we can say for sure, but Lauren Shuler Donner's tweet is the best hint we have so far at what that title could be.
Hidden amongst the casting photo is a stealth casting, as Heroic Hollywood identified an as-yet unknown cast member in the picture: Joseph Morgan, of CW's The Originals.
Even if the show is called "Gifted," or if the pilot episode is called "Gifted," it's unlikely to have much to do with the Astonishing X-Men comic book story of that same name by Joss Whedon and John Cassaday. For one thing, Fox's show is likely to feature more obscure mutants, not the core X-Men cast, and for another, we know that it's plot involves a family that goes on the run after learning that their children are mutants, meeting up with a band of mutant outlaws.
