The Elite Announced All Elite Wrestling While Everyone Was Drunk on New Years Eve
If you're waking up this morning with a slight hangover, a sense of looming dread about how 2019 can possibly top 2018, and the strange recollection that a brand new pro wrestling promotion was announced last night, that's not the champagne talking.
On a special New Years Eve episode of Being The Elite which also featured SoCal Uncensored, Cody Rhodes, Hangman Page, and the Young Bucks announced their highly anticipated new wrestling promotion, All Elite Wrestling. Official AEW shill and dirt sheet mogul Dave Meltzer says the promotion will be financed by billionaire money mark Tony Khan, co-owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Fulham F.C., and will compete with other U.S. wrestling promotions like Ring of Honor (but might work out deals for its top stars to continue to work with NJPW). More information will be revealed next week at a free rally next week at the Jaguars' stadium.
Also included in the reveal was the official announcement of Double or Nothing, the sequel to the independent wrestling supershow All In. Now all they need is a TV deal and to hire Tony Schiavone and 2019 will really be poppin' WCW style.
Check out the video below, and let us know your hopes and dreams for the new WCW.
