Venom Takes Over All Your Favorite Marvel Characters with New Line of Funko Pops
Venom is not only taking over theaters in October — the symbiote will bond with some of Marvel's best in a new line of Funko Pops hitting stores the month before in September. They have done this type of thing in the comics a ton, especially as of late. And some of these Pops feature some of the best sculpting work Funko has ever done. Let's take a look!
In honor of Venom's 30th anniversary, your favorite Super Heroes
and Villains are being Venomized, and it's safe to say
the universe will never be the same.Venom's first victim, journalist Eddie Brock, is a natural choice
for the Pop! Marvel Venom Series.
Similarly, Cletus Kasady and Carnage, despite being considered
an "I" rather than a "we," are another natural choice for the Venom series. While it's difficult to picture the Hulk any color but green, he
makes Venom's signature black costume work for him.
Captain America manages to retain his usual red, white and blue
color scheme. And Iron Man's determined to fly,
even as Venom's captive.
Regular releases include half-faced Venom and Carnage, Hulk, Captain America, and Iron Man. The Hulk and Iron Man Pops really stand out. I also really like the eyes on the Captain America one. I would have to say out of these first five, though, that Iron Man with the reactor blasts is such a standout and the most badass-looking figure.
In case you were wondering: of course there are exclusives! Black Panther will be at GameStop, Loki (man does he look great with the helmet and everything) at Target, Ghost Rider at Walmart, and a way-cooler-than-the-original Carnage exclusive to FYE (good luck on that one, Marvel fans!). The first three of those should be easier to get than they were before — Target and GameStop have been doing a much better job restocking as of late.
You can preorder the regular releases here already.
