Wolverine's First Appearance Gets a Statue from Gentle Giant

Wolverine is getting a new Gentle Giant statue celebrating his first appearance, the fourth in their line of statues this year celebrating his entire history. The statue stands in the 1:8 scale and sports real metal claws. It also features a Wolverine logo base and fits nice and snug next to the others in the line, which you can see in the below picture.

You can see this statue and details down below, and preorder one for yourself at $159.99 right here.

The first appearance of the fan-favorite character Wolverine was in The Incredible Hulk #180-181 published in 1974. Then Marvel Editor-in-Chief Roy Thomas and writer Len Wein created Wolverine, and his original costume was designed by legendary artist and art director John Romita Sr. In his first appearance you can see the hints of what his costume would evolve into with his signature mask flairs, tiger strips and signature blue, yellow and red costume… and maybe just a hint of berserker rage in his eyes!

Gentle Giant celebrates almost 45 years of Wolverine with our newest 1:8th scale Collector's Gallery Statue. The '74 is the fourth statue in our popular Wolverine Collector's Gallery series. With the introduction of the '74 to the series you get the full scope of his legacy starting at the very beginning as the character that is arguably the most popular Mutant in the Marvel Universe. The '74 Collector's Gallery statue comes with real metal claws, an attitude of "being the best at what he does" and is inspired by the cover art for Old Man Logan Vol. 2 #21. This Collector's Gallery statue comes on a black, hexagon base with the Wolverine logo, and can fit together along side the other releases in the Wolverine statue line. The '74 Collector's Gallery Statue has been digitally sculpted and hand-painted by the amazing artisans of Gentle Giant Studios and every one comes hand numbered with a certificate of authenticity.
