Rebellion Unveils "Sniper Elite VR" at E3 2019
Rebellion has released a new video for Sniper Elite VR, which reveals the first details about the upcoming shooter. Sniper VR will be a standalone game in the Sniper Elite franchise, so it isn't a remake or remaster. It is a whole new way to enjoy the exacting gameplay that's made the franchise so noteworthy.
Revellion paired up with Just Add Water to develop the game, so it is being developed by a veteran VR team.
As for the setting, Sniper Elite VR takes you Italy during WWII. If that sounds familiar, well, it's set prior the events of Sniper Elite 4, and features a brand new story by Tony Schumacher, author of the acclaimed John Rossett novels.
In SE VR you're fighting for the Italian resistance to rid Sicily of Nazi U-boats across an array of new Italian maps. You'll be able to use free movement, employ stealth and tactics to suit your play style, and use an array of authentic WWII era weaponry to take out your targets.
Sniper Elite VR will of course feature the series' genre-defining ballistics and long-range gunplay. The game will also see the return of the iconic X-Ray Kill Cam, completely rebuilt for VR.
As the video reveals, Sniper Elite VR will also offer support for both the Aim and Move controllers on PlayStation VR. It will also release on Oculus Rift, SteamVR and Viveport.
