Kotobukiya Brings Kieron Gillen's Murder Droids To Star Wars Celebration
Anyone who has read Marvel's Darth Vader comic or the follow-up series Doctor Aphra can pretty much agree that the breakout characters would be the murderously funny pair of droids 0-0-0 (Triple Zero) and BT-1 (BeeTee). Expertly written by Kieron Gillen, these two became fast fan-favorites as soon as they were introduced. Inevitably, everyone wondered when we could be bringing our own miniature versions home. Thanks to Kotobukiya, if you are going to Star Wars Celebration you can. They will be selling a ARTFX+ 2 pack exclusively at the convention, as well as online for non-attendees. From their website:
A Kotobukiya Japanese import! Activated by Doctor Aphra and under the service of Darth Vader the assassin Droids known as 0-0-0 (Triple Zero) & BT-1 appear for the first time in the ARTFX+ series! Programed in the art of "etiquette and torture" this dastardly duo wreaks havoc (and incinerations) across the galaxy!
Triple Zero stands just over 6 12 inches tall while BT-1 stands 4 12 inches tall in 1/10th ARTFX+ scale. Magnets in their feet provide the perfect stability on the included metal display bases. As with other Celebration exclusives this release also includes a special commemorative collector's coin. And as an extra special bonus to this set only, a 10" x 8" print is included in the box with exclusive artwork by acclaimed artist Adi Granov!
That is quite an awesome deal here, at $79.99 you get quite a bit bedsides just the statues. Kotobukiya is known for their quality and attention to detail as well, so this one is a must-buy. Check out the droids below and if you are so inclined, you can preorder the statue here now.
