Don't Worry WandaVision Fans, Mephisto Is Still Marvel's Big Bad
So, it seems a few folks are a little bent out of shape that there was no big reveal of Mephisto in the WandaVision finale from Marvel And the bottom of the market has fallen out for his first appearance, Silver Surfer #3 from 1968, now selling for hundreds rather than thousands. Mephisto and Phil Coulson[...]
Amazing Spider-Man #60 - Marriage, Mary Jane, Mysterio And M...?
And it begins with a performance piece by Peter Parker, under the spotlight talking, amongst other things, about his not being married, as a personal failure. Something that was taken from him and Mary Jane Watson by Mephisto, you know, the guy people keep talking about in Wandavision TikTok videos It all happened back in 2007's[...]
Why No WandaVision Credit For John Byrne, Allan Heinberg, Jim Cheung?
For John Byrne. And as the series has continued, that missing credit appeared more and more egregious. West Coast Avengers by John Byrne John Byrne wrote and drew the West Coast Avengers: VisionQuest storyline, rapidly selling out on Amazon, in which the body of The Vision is captured by a government body and stripped into bits in a[...]
Is Mephisto The Big Bad Of Avengers, Heroes Reborn And WandaVision?
Is this Mephisto time? With Kevin Feige as the Chief Creative Officer of all of Marvel Entertainment now – movies, TV and comics, we've been wondering how that may exhibit itself This is mindless speculation, of course, unsourced, just joining the dots at random and trying to avoid any pictures of genitalia or at least[...]
Six Matches Decided In This Week's X Of Swords Comics
And Norman Osborn knows why. Not that Kindred wants that answered for Spider-Man, not yet, anyway. It's all in the aim of showing Peter Parker the affect that he has had on his friends and family in the past – and now in the present. If only Peter Parker could remember he'd done a deal with the devil[...]
Silver_Surfer_Vol_1_1
In a rejected pitch for a Silver Surfer story set in the future, Rick Remender would have revealed that Mephisto is behind Humanity's most evil tendencies. The comics industry is more or less shut down due to coronavirus concerns, which leaves the comic book media with a big problem: what do we write about when there[...]

Is This Marvel Confirming Big Mephisto Plans?
Bleeding Cool has been curious over the place of Mephisto in the upcoming Marvel Universe, with lots of recent appearances in Doctor Strange, Champions, War Of The Realms, Avengers, Deadpool and more. And suggesting that with Ghost Rider, Helstrom and more coming, there could be more to talk about, especially with an upcoming King Of Hell[...]

Doctor Strange #389 cover by Mike del Mundo
[rwp-review-recap id="0"] Doctor Strange explains to us that the portal he opened in Las Vegas attracted not only Mephisto, but also Dormammu, Nightmare, and Shuma-Gorath They warred over who would enter our dimension, and Mephisto won, which left the other three in some sort of Necro-Realm Dormammu has a proposal for Doctor Strange and the Avengers[...]
Wong and the Midnight Sons make their final stand against the hordes of Hell and the demonically-possessed Avengers. Before long, Mephisto himself arrives to gloat over having killed Johnny Blaze. However, Mephisto does not know that the Ghost Rider has become the king of Hell, and the tides may soon turn in favor of Wong. Doctor Strange: Damnation ends better than it began. While some of the deliberate lack of repentance on the part of Stephen Strange and the lack of focus on the members of the Midnight Sons that aren’t Wong and Strange does bother me, this final installment didn’t really get on my nerves as much as the first. Don’t get me wrong, this issue still has a myriad of problems that keep it from being required reading. This story was stretched to breaking point, and a good portion of what matters happened in the Ghost Rider issue. This book is a protracted third act. As far as plot-relevance goes, Blade, Doctor Voodoo, Bloodstone, Man-Thing, Scarlet Spider, Moon Knight, and Iron Fist may as well not be here. Even in their own tie-ins, Iron Fist and Scarlet Spider don’t really do anything important to the story. The follow-up story promises more with the Midnight Sons though, and that will hopefully come to something. Rod Reis’ artwork is a welcome presence in this book. His style lends itself to the ethereal and surreal nature of this setting and plot. The color gradience adds a unique atmosphere and generally looks quite good. Szymon Kudranski and Dan Brown handle the epilogue with the Midnight Sons and Doc Strange. The more realistic aesthetic does contrast Reis’ work in an odd manner, but it looks good too. Doctor Strange: Damnation #4 is a decent enough read. If you liked the rest of the story, you’ll like this one too. The fact that the story at least acknowledges that Strange’s idea was terrible from the start and ties it to personal problems helps a lot. Reis, Kudranksi, and Brown provide good visuals. Feel free to check it out.

Infinity Gauntlet cover by George Perez
This is not the tale of how Thanos collected the gems; that was a prior two-issue story called Thanos Quest. Infinity Gauntlet begins with Gauntlet-equipped Thanos, along with Mephisto following as a toady, going to the throne of Lady Death, which is a small stone structure floating in the void of space Thanos brings along his[...]
Ben Reilly: The Scarlet Spider #16 cover by Khary Randolph and Emilio Lopez
[rwp-review-recap id="0"] Ben Reilly, the Scarlet Spider, has been roped into the conflict between Wong's Midnight Sons and Mephisto Wong sends the Scarlet Spider away to hold off the demons in Las Vegas' strip This initially seems like an easy task with Ben's Spider Sense, but he soon learns that the demons don't trigger it immediately[...]

Doctor Strange: Damnation #3 cover by Rod Reis Damnation #3 gets some points for bringing together the battle between the Ghost Rider-Avengers and Wong's Midnight Sons for which we've been waiting Unfortunately, it takes a while to get there, and it doesn't show much of it. In that aftermath, Strange plays cards against Mephisto for the fate of Las Vegas. Doctor Strange #386 cover by Niko Henrichon I was no fan of Damnation #1 It's lack of tone coherence, Doctor Strange actively making the lives of Las Vegas worse by resurrecting half the city and Mephisto, and the continued degradation of Marvel heroes[...]

The Falcon #4 Review: Good Character Study Wrapped in a Plot Tangent
It still disappoints me that this comic pivoted away from a nuanced look at gang violence and its socioeconomic causes to an occult story with the son of Mephisto trying to make a bid for world domination. That being said, Rodney Barnes manages to justify this digression into Hell by having the Falcon forced into deciding[...]
