Ubisoft Entertainment SA is a French video game publisher based in Montreuil, France, with several internal development studios across the world including Ubisoft Paris and Montreal, Massive Entertainment, and Blue Byte. The company was founded in 1986 by Christian, Claude, Gérard, Michel and Yves Guillemot. Yves Guillemot is most notable face of the company as its CEO. Ubisoft is best known for publishing games in the Assassin's CreedFar CryJust DancePrince of PersiaRaymanRaving Rabbids, and Tom Clancy franchises. The Tom Clancy franchise alone includes over 40 games and several sub-franchises like Ghost ReconSplinter CellRainbow Six, and The Division. Many of these franchises have become live service games after Ubisoft noticed that players enjoyed connected sandbox experiences with seamless switches between single and multiplayer modes more than single-player only games. The live service model continues to be their most common game type.
